Shellreter Owens Scholarship Fund

Girls In Charge (GIC) believes it is our responsibility to encourage, as well as financially support the advancement of education in the lives of our young women through the "Shellreter Owens Scholarship Fund".

Shellreter Owens Scholarship Award

Shellreter Owens-Saint Paul has created the “Shellreter Owens Scholarship” award to help give back to the community. She made a promise to herself that when she finished college and positioned herself to a point where she is able to help others, she would come up with a master plan that would help young women from around the would.

Eligibility Criteria

Criteria to determine who are eligible for scholarship awards:

  • Completion of the GIC 9-week life skills work

  • Providing an official high school transcript

  • Qualifying for Federal Financial Aid

  • Maintaining a 2.5 GPA or above

  • Submitting two references

  • Submitting a 1000 word essay

Scholarship Information

The purpose of our scholarship awards is to help deserving high school graduates who cannot afford to attend college/ university. We will provide three scholarships each year base upon available funds for GIC participants who are high school graduates, with a GPA of 2.0 and who has completed the 9-week life skill workshop.
